Structuring of thin film solar cells
The application center structures thin film solar cells for research and development purposes. Cadmium telluride (CdTe), amorphous silicon (a-Si), microcrystalline silicon (a-Si / µ-Si) or copper-indium-diselenide (CIS) can all be processed with LPKF SolarQuipment technology.
The service spectrum encloses all steps from consultation to the construction of a final product:
- Technological consultation
- Feasibility studies
- Regulation of process parameters
Depending on the desired result, laser-based or mechanical structuring systems are used accordingly.
Laser systems are used for CdTe, a-Si and a-Si / µ-Si technologies. With the use of various laser sources, the most precise results can be achieved for different solar cell technologies.
Mechanical systems are used for the processing of CIS technologies within the process steps P2 and P3. For the P1 process step a laser-based structuring process is used.
